Ideas Portal (Closed)
The Surpass Ideas Portal is now closed.
Thank you to everyone who has contributed over the years by submitting and voting on ideas, which have all been extremely valuable to the development of Surpass. We are no longer accepting new ideas via the IdeasPortal.
We still want to hear ideas form the Surpass Community, and in order to streamline the process we’re moving to a new innovations management system, which will allow us to efficiently manage and review ideas.Surpass champions within each organisation will have access to the new system and will be sent details of this soon.
All ‘open’ ideas on the Ideas Portal will be sent back to the parent organisation that submitted them, for review and resubmission on the new system where appropriate.
Thanks again to everyone who has contributed.

Provide exceptions to randomization of multiple choice options
Example question:
Which city is located in The Netherlands?
a. Amsterdam
b. Utrecht
c. Zwolle
d. All of the aboveIn this case, it's desirable to randomize the order of the first 3 options, but the "All of the above" option should always be last.

Setting for certified tablet delivery in Test Wizard
If I want to use my test in the Surpass app (Ipad), I have to check a box in my test form settings in test creation (Certified tablet delivery). This setting is not available in the testwizard (in item authoring). So if I check the box for tablet delivery I cannot edit my test in the test wizard anymore, To solve this issue I would like to add the setting for tablet delivery to the wizard.

This idea is technically feasible and we’ll update you when a wireframe is available.
Thanks

Improving the comment button during tests and candidate reviews
While taking a test or candidate review candidates have the possibility to use the comment button. We were happy with this possibility. But we don’t use it often, because the comments candidates make, are not easy to find. You have to click on each question to see if there a comment. This is very time consuming. Is it possible to make the comments more accessible? For example by a csv-export.
Another issue is that the test is not editable by the test wizard anymore if you use this function. The reason for this is that you have to edit the…

An 'interactive' play button for the listening tests
In the current version of the tablet app, the play button for the listening questions does not change state when the candidate interacts with it therefore giving no indication that it has been pressed a first or second time, can this be changed so that the candidate is given an indication that an interaction has occurred.

Easy use of formative tests: send keycode by email to candidate
A very simple but effective way to improve Surpass for real formative testing is to send the keycodes by email to the candidates.
How?
If you schedule a formative test, you only need to add the following:- The maximum number of attempts to make the test (e.g. maximum 3 times).
- An email to the candidate with the keycode(s), time span you need to use those keycodes and the URL to start the test (so it is only for formative test by browser).
All non used tests should be voided automatically after the scheduled end date.

Change or delete the prefix in section headers of downloaded test forms
When Surpass generates a MS Word file, a prefix is automatically added to the headers that contain the section title. The prefix is 'chapter' in English, 'hoofdstuk' in Dutch (which means the same). Hoofdstuk implies that sections correspond to a chapter in a book, but that is not necessarily the case. It would be better to remove the prefix completely. If desirable users can add the text manually in the wizard.

To have the Actual Duration available as a column in the Test Audit.
The Actual Duration would be the sum of the time a candidate has spent in each question they answered in a test. At the moment this can only be derived from the difference between the Test Delivered and Test Submitted times in the Audit Report. However if the test has gone offline this difference is not accurate. By having the Actual Duration as a column in Test Audit it could be exported and analysed in a spread sheet. This is important in identifying possible malpractice where a candidate has completed a test in an unfeasibly short period of time.

Export from Results Page
It would be very useful to be able to Export Results from the "/#TestAdministration/Results" page. At the moment all you can do is print this data.

Reporting Area
Reporting Area - presentation of additional item and paper level information
In addition to the information that can be found in the reporting area, we would also welcome the following presentation of statistics:
• Item level – Average Facility Value i.e. item performance over the number of outings that it has had
• Paper level – Mean, Median and Mode marks
Currently the item level information needs to be obtained by comparing the test creation screen to the item screen and the paper level information through the raw data Excel export. It would be great to have all of this…

Give owners of a Subject the right to add Candidates to their Subject like they can add Users to their Subject
Thus not first going to a Candidate and add a Centre + Subject to the Candidate, but the start point is the Subject. Same as a Subject owner adds Users to their Subjects, but now he/she adds Candicates.
This is convenient for Teachers who like to create a formative test and like to Schedule this test himself. Then he/she can easily select the candidates instead of using the import candidates button.12 votesThank you for your idea.

Enable use of 'randomise test forms' when Bulk Scheduling
The bulk schedule tool is very useful when scheduling lots of candidates but we have several tests that we would like to choose 'automatic selection' of test forms as we have a number of versions available. Therefore, please could bulk scheduling support the randomise test forms feature too?
