Ideas Portal (Closed)

The Surpass Ideas Portal is now closed.

Thank you to everyone who has contributed over the years by submitting and voting on ideas, which have all been extremely valuable to the development of Surpass. We are no longer accepting new ideas via the IdeasPortal.

We still want to hear ideas form the Surpass Community,and in order to streamline the process we’re moving to a new innovations management system, which will allow us to efficiently manage and review ideas.Surpass champions within each organisation will have access to the new system and will be sent details of this soon.

All ‘open’ ideas on the Ideas Portal will be sent back to the parent organisation that submitted them, for review and resubmission on the new system where appropriate.

  1. Allow Primary Centre Association to be changed

    I would like to be able to change the primary centre associated for a Subject after migration. This will help me to reorganise my subjects by associating them with the correct centres.

  2. SecureClient and Surpass connectivity diagnostic

    After centres download SecureClient, it would be really helpful if a connectivity daignostic could be provided to ensure that any communication blockage between SecureClient and Surpass can be quickly resolved. In this way Centres could be guided in making the necessary tweaks on their network.

    You can do a system check to audio/video/microphone and internet settings on the candidate’s PC prior to the candidate entering a Keycode and beginning their test.
    Click the System Check button in Secure Client screen to go through the procedure.

  3. Allow Candidate Import to Update Existing Candidates

    Allow the candidate spreadsheet import tool to update candidates who already exist in the system, instead of just being used to create new candidates.

  4. Extra Workflowstatus, it would be handy if there was a workflowstatus "ready to go live"

    When an item is written it can be reviewed by serveral others but there is no status for the moment that the author has completed the item and wants to deliver it for making it live. In our organisation it is not the author that has that authority, that is the gatekeeper. The gatekeeper needs this status, otherwise he'll get confused. Has the item been reviewd? Has the item been adjusted? Is it ready for giging it the live status? With an extra "ready to go live" status life would be much easier for the gatekeeper.

    On the Subjects screen in Setup show which Centres a Subject is Shared with (like the view which shows all team members linked to subject)

    From Release 1.3, within the Subjects screen in Setup you are now able to see which Centres a Subject is shared with.

  6. Branding possibility pictures Home page

    Surpass has the possibility to setup own Branding settings.
    On the Homepage you can use an own banner, but the colors are not matching with the orange colors of the buttons on this page.
    It would be very helpful to have the possibility to change the color of these pictures.

    • Filter by Associated Subject . To find a list of candidates associated with a given Subject, As you can do with Centre


    • Search by Surname


    • Search by Surname and DOB


    • Search by First name and Surname


    • Include a column for Date Created/Imported


    • Sort by Column Headings – this will allow to sort by date created and view recently added candidates


    • Export results to CSV for further searching in Excel etc.

  8. Delete candidates

    It would be good if you cold delete a candidate once they have been uploaded. I have tried retiring candidates but they still appear in the candidate list. It would be good to be able to delete them completely or when they are retired you can filter candidates so that the candidate that are retired do not appear.

    Hi Romana,

    The ability to filter off retired candidates is now supported in your version of Surpass. We’ve made this the default view, let me know if this works as requested.

  10. CSV list separator: like to change this by admin setting

    The default CSV separator is a , but in the Netherlands the default setting on a PC is a ;
    If we change this by our PC language settings to a , we create a problem for all our other programmes. So the request is; can you make it possible to make it an Admin setting to change the , into a ; ?

  11. email address can be registered to more than one user

    If a 'Super admin' type role then should be able to use their email address for one than one User. Testers also could do with this feature. I would think somewhere some super administrator might want to set up multiple users to do different jobs but enter the same email?

  12. being able to print sections wizard

    hello,

    when you are in the section wizard in test forms you can see the Surpass reference for your item and also the item name within the bank. When grouping items in test form you need to see your own reference for an item not the surpass reference. It would be good if either the wizard showing both item references could be printed or the customers item name could be shown.

  13. Position Feedback Button User Voice: to the left side?

    Just a suggestion, but the User Voice Feedback button on the right side of the screen is sometimes bothersome. For example when creating questions and the mouse position is trough the Feedback button and you like to use the scrollbar.
    Is it an idea to change it to the left side or are we getting another issue then?

    The Uservoice Feedback button has been moved to the right hand side of the top bar. This change will be available from Release 2.3.

  14. Home page: just a change of words

    To avoid confusion I suggest to add the words " / Manage" for "Create" and "Add". Thus:
    "Create / Manage Centre" and "Add / Manage Users" etc.

    From Release 1.3.1, the buttons on the homepage will be named the same as the navigation text, for example Centres, Subjects, Users, etc.
