Ideas Portal (Closed)
The Surpass Ideas Portal is now closed.
Thank you to everyone who has contributed over the years by submitting and voting on ideas, which have all been extremely valuable to the development of Surpass. We are no longer accepting new ideas via the IdeasPortal.
We still want to hear ideas form the Surpass Community, and in order to streamline the process we’re moving to a new innovations management system, which will allow us to efficiently manage and review ideas.Surpass champions within each organisation will have access to the new system and will be sent details of this soon.
All ‘open’ ideas on the Ideas Portal will be sent back to the parent organisation that submitted them, for review and resubmission on the new system where appropriate.
Thanks again to everyone who has contributed.

Provide exceptions to randomization of multiple choice options
Example question:
Which city is located in The Netherlands?
a. Amsterdam
b. Utrecht
c. Zwolle
d. All of the aboveIn this case, it's desirable to randomize the order of the first 3 options, but the "All of the above" option should always be last.

Setting for certified tablet delivery in Test Wizard
If I want to use my test in the Surpass app (Ipad), I have to check a box in my test form settings in test creation (Certified tablet delivery). This setting is not available in the testwizard (in item authoring). So if I check the box for tablet delivery I cannot edit my test in the test wizard anymore, To solve this issue I would like to add the setting for tablet delivery to the wizard.

This idea is technically feasible and we’ll update you when a wireframe is available.
Thanks

Change or delete the prefix in section headers of downloaded test forms
When Surpass generates a MS Word file, a prefix is automatically added to the headers that contain the section title. The prefix is 'chapter' in English, 'hoofdstuk' in Dutch (which means the same). Hoofdstuk implies that sections correspond to a chapter in a book, but that is not necessarily the case. It would be better to remove the prefix completely. If desirable users can add the text manually in the wizard.

Give owners of a Subject the right to add Candidates to their Subject like they can add Users to their Subject
Thus not first going to a Candidate and add a Centre + Subject to the Candidate, but the start point is the Subject. Same as a Subject owner adds Users to their Subjects, but now he/she adds Candicates.
This is convenient for Teachers who like to create a formative test and like to Schedule this test himself. Then he/she can easily select the candidates instead of using the import candidates button.12 votesThank you for your idea.

Allow for more characters in the "Select from List" item-type.
The "Select from List" is great for a pick-the-right-sentence type of question but the 34 character limit is restricting.

Allow absolute marking for extended matching question type
We would like to have absolute marking for the extended matching question type. This is possible in CP but not IA. For example if we have three one to one matches with a mark of 1 each correct link scores 0.33 which we can't have. All three links have to be correct to score a mark.

Use Micro services and Docker container for CI/CD
Surpass has very good potential in itself. Make sure we could create surpass as service (SAAS) application. We should concentrate only for New features and enhancement. i would suggest that we could use Microservice based architecture and containerise platform like Kubernetes and docker.

Be able to configure the vertical height of an essay question response area
We would like to be able to configure the vertical height of the essay question response area. For human marked tests we may have questions worth a different number of marks (e.g. 2-25). Typically with ContentProducer we would size the gapfill to be proportional to the size of the expected response and number of marks available. The number of marks and size of the response area give the candidate an indication of what is expected in terms of their response. With essay questions the vertical height of the response area is the same in all case and this could make…

Item Name Auto Set to ID option
Presently you have the option to edit the individual quesitons to be named however you would like.
In a number of cases this isn't an issue; however it would be beneficial to have the option of automatically setting the item name to be the ID.The item ID is significantly more useful in the majority of cases and in some cases it is needed to identify information when cross referencing with an external source.

Folder and file management of projects
I'm tidying up a messy collection of many people's practice files in a 'Testing' project. 2 things:
1. Folder moving: When I drag a folder from the bottom up to the top, it doesn't scroll. I have to move up 20, scroll up, move another 20, until I get to the top. Can we have a function to select a folder and have 'move' (up arrow/down arrow)?
2. The "i" (info) hover-over is great, but it currently only tells me the item name and ID, but that's exactly the info I have on that line anyway! It would be really…2 votesThank you for your Idea.

Printed Test with all questiontypes
If not supported questiontypes are in a TestForm, this TestForm is not available for printing via the Testwizard. I think all TestForms should be available for printing, but then only with the content that is available to print.
This is almost like the way the printed version is in Test Creation.
Only with the exception that all possible content of all questiontypes should be printed.2 votesThank you for your Idea.

Assessments within computer based projects
It would be nice if there was an opton to include timed and marked assessments within a computer based project.
Ideally these would be a section of the project which can only be accessed a specified number of times and provides an immiediate result summary during the project.
The purpose of this would be to test specific knowledge as part of a project.

Randomisation of answeroptions Drag and drop
In the Drag and Drop Questions the answeroptions have permanent order of presenting to the candidate. This question type is usable in several different ways. F.i. when you want to order parts of sentences to the right sentence. For this kind of use it would be helpfull to randomise the anweroptions.
