Ideas Portal (Closed)

The Surpass Ideas Portal is now closed.

Thank you to everyone who has contributed over the years by submitting and voting on ideas, which have all been extremely valuable to the development of Surpass. We are no longer accepting new ideas via the IdeasPortal.

We still want to hear ideas form the Surpass Community,and in order to streamline the process we’re moving to a new innovations management system, which will allow us to efficiently manage and review ideas.Surpass champions within each organisation will have access to the new system and will be sent details of this soon.

All ‘open’ ideas on the Ideas Portal will be sent back to the parent organisation that submitted them, for review and resubmission on the new system where appropriate.

  2. Alignment of Question Text

    I need to have an alignment function when writing questions (Same as using tab key when using word). We currently use the space bar to align text.

    Previous title 'tab in text box and underline function in pie box'.

  3. Allow Item Reviewers to Submit Comments

    Authors should be able to add comments to an item when reviewing it, which other authors/reviewers are able to read and respond to.

  4. Enhancements to the Centres Report

    In the Reporting tab within the Centres Report Screen the following changes would enhance the report:
    The line graph would be better displayed as a bar chart.
    The x axis title "Month" should be renamed as the year used in the drop down list above.
    The y axis title "Volume of Tests" should be renamed "Number of Tests"
    The graph title "Centre Test Volume Statistics" should be renamed " The Number of Tests Taken".
    The line label "Average" should be renamed "The Mean for all Centre".

  5. Support for PDFs in File Attach Question Type

    I would like the file attach question type to Support PDFs, so that candidates can submit PDFs in a Test.

  7. Simplified Test Creation Tool

    Provide a wizard that allows users to quickly create simple tests from within a Subject in Item Authoring.

    From Release 1.3, you are able to change the status of multiple items at once within Item Authoring.

  12. Allow Candidate Import to Update Existing Candidates

    Allow the candidate spreadsheet import tool to update candidates who already exist in the system, instead of just being used to create new candidates.

    From Surpass Editions 1.5, you will be able to print the following question types to paper from the Test Wizard:

    Multiple Choice
    Either/Or
    Fill in the Blank
    Essay
    Short Answer

  19. Cronbach's alpha

    In addition to the good suggestion put forward by someone else about the addition of the distractor values, we would like to have the cronbach's alpha included as well. It would be nice if the cronbach's alpha will be calculated for the entire test, but could be calculated as well for each section (unit) within the test.

    This will be available from Release 12.3 within the Reporting screen at a Test Form level.

  20. Filter Items by Status

    Provide an option in Item Authoring for users to be able to filter their viewable items by status e.g. Draft and Ready for Review only
