Ideas Portal

Welcome to the Surpass Ideas Portal, where you’re free to make suggestions for improvements or new features that you’d like to see in Surpass. You can also vote on suggestions that other users have already made.

When making a suggestion, please describe the reason why you want to see this feature, including the context behind the idea.

All ideas and comments will be moderated, and we’ll try to respond to all of the ideas as soon as possible.

Don’t forget to let us know what you think of others’ suggestions, either by voting or leaving a comment on the idea. The most popular ideas will be considered, and the highest rated suggestions will be incorporated into future releases of Surpass Editions.

Ideas Portal: How can we improve Surpass?

You've used all your votes and won't be able to post a new idea, but you can still search and comment on existing ideas.

There are two ways to get more votes:

  • When an admin closes an idea you've voted on, you'll get your votes back from that idea.
  • You can remove your votes from an open idea you support.
  • To see ideas you have already voted on, select the "My feedback" filter and select "My open ideas".

Enter your idea and we'll search to see if someone has already suggested it.

If a similar idea already exists, you can support and comment on it.

If it doesn't exist, you can post your idea so others can support it.

  1. An 'interactive' play button for the listening tests

In the current version of the tablet app, the play button for the listening questions does not change state when the candidate interacts with it therefore giving no indication that it has been pressed a first or second time, can this be changed so that the candidate is given an indication that an interaction has occurred.

    • Open Interaction Tools (Graph)

The idea is for an open interaction tool primarily for use with a tablet.
The tool is a graph creator wherein the candidate is provided a gridded area where they can draw/place specific items. These items would auto snap to the pre-defined grid.
When selecting an axis the first point is placed, then the second is placed, with the divisions automatically populating in-line with the grid (there should be text boxes for values).
The axis should be able to be extended/shortened and the divisions altered easily.

When adding bars the candidate picks the type of bar (single, dual, triple) and…

      • Open Interaction Tools (Type, Write, Draw)

The idea is for an open interaction tool primarily for use with a tablet.
The tool is a standard text entry box wherein the candidate can enter either standard keyboard text and formatting or write into the tool using a stylus (I.e. candidate's handwriting).

The tool should support the use of touch screen, keyboard entry and stylus.
This would allow the learner to complete an electronic exam in their preferred method with a paper based 'feel'.
It would be particularly useful in Maths types exams where a learner might need to show complicated workings.

In terms of features it should…
