Flash File Restrictions

Adobe have announced that they will stop supporting Flash by the end of 2020. HTML5 standards have been implemented across all modern web browsers, so there is no need for Flash anymore.

We intend to reduce the risk of conflicts and errors by reducing the amount of Flash content in our system. From 2020 onwards, you will be unable to add new Flash-based files (such as .flv and .swf) to the Media Library in ‘Item Authoring’.

Therefore, we advise you to find new file formats for your media content. For example, you could embed a HTML animation into a web page and use URL source material to add this source material to an item.
