Applying reasonable adjustments to candidates
Select the tickbox for ‘Reasonable Adjustments’ when creating or editing a candidate.
When you schedule a candidate with ‘Reasonable Adjustments’ for a test, they will receive the standard amount of extra time.
Editing the amount of extra time for a test form
Find your test form in the ‘Test Forms’ screen, then select ‘Edit Test Form’.
For tests with a ‘Timed’ or ‘Timed Section’ duration, you can edit the ‘Standard’ and ‘Maximum’ amount of extra time candidates with ‘Reasonable Adjustments’ can receive at the point of scheduling.
Enter a value in the ‘standard’ and ‘maximum’ fields. These values default to 30 minutes.
Scheduling a candidate for extra time
Important: By default, users can add extra time to any candidates, not just those with reasonable adjustments. To find out how to restrict this to only candidates with reasonable adjustments, please see the Ensuring time can only be added for candidates with reasonable adjustments section below. You can add extra time to specific candidates when you schedule tests.
In the final ‘Review’ stage of the scheduling wizard, select a candidate from the list. Hold ‘Ctrl’ or ‘Shift’ to select multiple candidates. Select ‘Edit Duration’.
Ensuring time can only be added for candidates with reasonable adjustments
Navigate to ‘Advanced Settings’ and select ‘Enable Strict Control for Reasonable Adjustments’. This restricts the ability to add extra time for users who do not have the 'Schedule/Add extra time to tests with strict control for reasonable adjustments' permissions.
To restrict users, create a custom ‘Test Administration’ role that does not have the ‘Schedule extra time for tests with strict control for reasonable adjustments’ or ‘Add extra time to tests with strict control for reasonable adjustments’ permissions. Give this custom role to users.
