Logging in and Getting Started

About: This article will explain the process of logging into and getting started in Surpass.

When an account has first been created for you, you will receive an email that contains your username and a link to the following 'Change Password' screen:



In order to access the system, you will be required to create and confirm a password. The password must contain a minimum of 8 characters, a number, at least one upper case and one lower case letter, and a special character. 

After creating and confirming your password, you will need to set up a security question and answer. The security question must be within 15 to 80 characters and the answer must be between 3 to 80 characters.

Note: A new Surpass-generated password will become invalid if not activated within 14 days. A 'reset password' email link will become invalid if not activated within 120 minutes.

When you have created and entered your password and security question, you will be taken to the Surpass Home Page. What you see at this stage will depend on the permissions that you have been given, for example, the user account below has only been given the permission to invigilate and schedule tests:



The user account below has been given all of the available permissions, including the ability to edit the homepage:
